A Crafty Ginger at Backyard Market (Brick Lane)

Hi crafters! How are you all doing? The last few weeks have been so incredibly busy (and fun)!! If you follow me on Instagram you’ve probably seen my latest pics as a crafts trader… at Backyard Market. I’m sooooo excited!

This new adventure started in the most ramdom way possible. A  friend from work, Kiri, introduced me to Elena, a wonderful and creative soul, who she met at a mutual friend’s wedding. And things clicked! When I met her she was already trading at various markets to do some product “research” (and have some fun!). She suggested I should join her and give it a go myself and I just couldn’t resist the idea 🙂

Craft Market: Mercado de Motores (Madrid – Spain)

I’ve been wanting to tell you about the amazing craft market Mercado de Motores for quite a while now, but I made so many pics that I dreaded the idea of having to go through all of them to choose my favourite ones. As you know, Madrid is my hometown (although I live in London) and in my last visit I was really impressed by the quality of crafty shops and markets. If you didn’t have a chance to read about my favourite craft shops in Madrid now is a great time to do so 🙂

What I love about the Mercado de Motores craft market is both the location and the wide variety of things to can find there. Lots of inspiration under the same roof! The market takes place on the second weekend of each month at the Madrid Railway Museum (Museo del Ferrocarril de Madrid). Located in the former station “Delicias” (Paseo de las Delicias,61), it is one of the finest and most representative examples of Spanish industrial architecture. Continue reading

Crafts Shopping in Madrid

After asking friends and reading a few blogs I put together a list and pitched the idea to both David and my friend Nerea (who brought her beautiful Cloe along). The idea of spending a sunny day in Madrid discovering new crafty corners and enjoying some “tapas” turned out to be even better than I expected. We had a lovely time 🙂 Continue reading

Crafty shopping this weekend

On Friday night I finally convinced my other half to watch a crafts TV show with me. Although he wasn’t too happy about it when I first mentioned it, he wasn’t able to find anything else worth watching on TV, so he had no excuse!

So there we were watching Kirstie Allsopp’s Vintage Home. Both our faces lit when they started talking about paper cutting. They were making wedding invites and it seemed so easy and rewarding… So we decided we would give paper cutting a go this weekend. That obviously meant that we needed to go shopping for the basics after we watched some paper cutting videos on Youtube and read a few blog posts to learn a bit more about this interesting craft.
